Carolyn Ermlick, Flute and Piccolo

Carolyn has been playing the flute since age 12 and has been a member of the Parma Symphony Orchestra for approximately 38 years. Carolyn is also an original member of the Strongsville Community Band and has been in the ensemble for 35 years.

Carolyn’s flute instructors have included Carl Adams at Edinboro State University, Bernie Goldberg and Jim Walker of the Pittsburgh Symphony, David Tessmer of Duquesne University and more recently, Jane Berkner and Linda White.

She was a member of the Pittsburgh Flute Club and is a founding member of the Greater Cleveland Flute Society and Flautrageous Flute Ensemble.

Each summer Carolyn attends the Interlochen Center for the Arts, participating in the Adult Flute Ensemble Camp. Over the years Carolyn has played in pit orchestras for many musicals, been a private flute instructor, and participated in many area flute choirs and small ensembles.

After retiring in 2015 from Foundation Software as the Director of Administrative Services in Strongsville, Carolyn and her husband, Gene, moved to Medina to be closer to her daughter and family.

Carolyn greatly appreciates the opportunity to play with the PSO and considers Rand to be a very kind and talented director.
