Emily Laycock-Smith
Emily Laycock-Smith has been an official member of the Parma Symphony Orchestra for 6 years but has been an avid listener/supporter since birth as the director happens to be her father. She has played trumpet in the past with the orchestra but currently plays with the Spectacular Seconds violin section. She graduated from Kent State University with her undergraduate degree in nursing while also enjoying vocal jazz and jazz combo classes. She has been a registered nurse for 5 years and is currently at University Hospitals in Neuro-Oncology. She has experienced many different specialties in her 5 years of nursing including; neurology/neuro-surgery, cardiac, and BMT. She has enjoyed travel nursing exploring Washington state, California, and Arizona as well as many National Parks along the way. She’s finally settled down (for now) in Cleveland after several years of travel nursing and got married in October to her wonderful husband Jason after dating for 7 and a half years. They share 3 perfect cats together; Zorro, Harvey, and Harley. However her favorite job is being an auntie to her 4 wonderful nieces. She also enjoys hiking, powerlifting, and reading.
