Laurie Septaric

Laurie has been a member of the Parma Symphony for over 15 years. She started playing violin with the 4th grade string program at Thoreau Park Elementary in 1973. Laurie played in the Baldwin Wallace Youth Orchestra from 1980-1982 under the direction of Dr. Rand Laycock. After graduating from Normandy High School in 1982, she played in the Bowling Green State University Orchestra, and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

While at BGSU, she met the love of her life, Ken, who was an Air Force ROTC Cadet. They got married and traveled the world, and lived in England (RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk) and Wyoming (F.E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne). In 1997, they settled back in Seven Hills to raise their 2 beautiful daughters, Nicole and Kristen. (Kristen also plays violin in the PSO). In 2000, Laurie started her business, Cappas Cakes. She enjoys sharing her delicious treats for special celebrations with the orchestra. Laurie feels blessed to be able to play the violin with her daughter, and to play in the Parma Symphony Orchestra.
