Margaret Lynch, violin

Margaret decided she would be a violinist when she was four years old, the afternoon her father played her a fiddle tune. She started violin in the Cleveland Public Schools. She studied privately with Clarence Wenger, a Parma Symphony member who introduced her to the violin she still plays. She also worked with James Barrett of the Cleveland Orchestra at the Music School Settlement and Institute of Music. She enjoyed playing in All City and Ohio State Fair orchestras.

When her two sons and daughter were off to school she took lessons with Helen Richard’s with the goal of playing in a community orchestra. She joined the Parma Symphony in the mid-1980s and served on the board of directors. She is also a member of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, plays in ukulele groups, string ensembles, and is learning the mandolin.

Margaret works as a supervisor for Cuyahoga County Job & Family Services, has three beautiful granddaughters, and lives in Parma with her husband, Roger.
