Oliver Chen
My name is Oliver Chen. I am 8 years old and enrolled in third grade. I have been living with my parents, my brother and my cutest French Bulldog “NiuNiu” since we moved from Shanghai 5 years ago. I am fluent in both Chinese and English.
My favorite subject in school is Math because I love explaining math problems to my friends. Most of my spare time after school is spent on sports. Last year, I received The Most Improved Swimmer award from the swimming team. My brother said it was because I was too slow at the beginning, but I don’t care. I got the award, he did not. I also play soccer in the TCFC soccer club and tennis in North Ridge Racket and Paddle club. In the winter, going skiing is what I look forward to. I tried pond skipping two years ago but failed. It was so cold that I could barely breathe. Looking back, I am very proud that I did it. I may do it again this year.
At home, I love making stuff with cardboard boxes, drawing pokemon and my dad’s beer bottles. My room is full of my collections, all kinds of boxes, bottles, rocks. I will learn how to tidy things up when I am older.
Since I can remember, any chance I got, I would ask my parents if we could listen to some music. I hope I can be the lead singer in the Nutcracker in fourth grade. When I go to middle school in two years, I am going to join the choir. Singing in front of a big audience has always been my dream.
